This was the second book in the Fablehaven series. Just like the first book, this was an excellent read and if anything, I liked it more than the first. There was more action right from the start and there
were more characters that added a lot to the story. This book was also appropriate for all ages. In this book Kendra sees a goblin impersonating a student at her school. This intrusion of the magical world into Kendra's normal life causes quite a stir and she finds herself back at Fablehaven with her brother Seth. A secret society is working towards the destruction of Fablehaven and other magical preserves. In order to stop them, Kendra will have to help find a powerful artifact hidden on the Fablehaven grounds. The only problem is that they have no idea where to find it or whom they can trust.
