by Lene KaaberbolThis is the first book in the Shamer series. This book is very different from other fantasy novels that I have read. It was interesting, but I didn't love it. There wasn't anything in particular that was offensive, but I wouldn't recommend it for the younger readers.
The
shamer has the ability to look into a person's eyes and cause them to feel unbelievable guilt. When she is held captive, her daughter, endowed with the same ability, attempts to rescue her. But how can they face a man so evil that he is incapable of feeling guilt?
